FLIGHT PLANNING FORMS
The following are materials that I maintain locally for free and secure downloads:

DR NAVIGATION SMART FORM  (Excel Spreadsheet)  -- This is a new take on the reliable old dead reckoning form.  Fill out the white cells with the flight info from your planned cross country flight and embedded formulas automatically calculate ground speeds, wind drift angles, leg flight times, and fuel burns.  The calculated information is displayed in the depicted grey cells.


AVARE
The following is a link to an Electronic Flight Bag product called 'Avare'.  It is highly functional free ware, that runs on Android devices and performs much like 'ForeFlight' or Pilot.  Users are able to download and maintain current navigational charts and approach and airport data, and view this information in 'moving map' format.  These features alone make it highly useful in flight to promote situational awareness.  In addition it has features for obtaining a weather briefing, and preparing and filing a flight plan.
